Scone Café Co-ordinators

We are looking for two volunteers to co-ordinate our core gathering in Abbey Church, Wednesdays 1-3pm.

This satisfying role involves reminder calls/texts to some guests, sharing out and allocating the volunteer tasks on the day, overseeing our welcome to guests, keeping in touch with core volunteer team to organise the rota each month, and liaising with the Staff Team on new participants and ordering supplies of coffee etc.

We estimate 1-2 hours per week, outwith the time spent preparing and closing up on the day (we are there c12.30-3.15). Job-share would allow you to alternate the dates you attend, if need be.

For full details, please contact Project Manager Carol Stobie. If you’d like to see us in action, drop into Scone Café on a Wednesday, and just introduce yourself to the team – you’ll receive a warm welcome!

Buddy Walks Volunteers

We now have a waiting list for one-to-one Buddy Walkers – the demand is very high for this invaluable service, helping people regain physical and social confidence through taking walks tailored to their needs, however short or gentle in pace, often ending up with a café visit. Full training is provided, initially through Paths for All, as we are members of the Scottish Health Walks Network – but you will also be part of our Community Connections family of volunteers with regular training and support from us.

For details, contact Project Manager Carol Stobie or Befriending Coordinator Lisa Brownlie.

Vacancy Notices

There are currently no paid vacancies.

Current vacancies for volunteers include Buddy Walkers (trained to risk-assess and accompany members on walks to suit their mobility and health… and maybe end up having coffee!) – please contact Lisa.

We also need two Scone Cafe Co-Coordinators (to sort the volunteer rota and keep things running smoothly every Wednesday). Contact Carol if you’re interested in this.

See Volunteering page for more details.
